Hello, I'm Drucella
Special Education Teacher
I am compassionate, insightful and dedicated
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education with a concentration in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I bring more than 15 years of experience as both a resource teacher and a cross-categorical teacher, serving students at the Caswell Center and in public school settings.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with several esteemed organizations, including the renowned Community Services for Autistic Children and Adults in Rockville, Maryland. I have also provided meaningful support to children attending the Charlie Gabby Center, Learning Together, and the Frankie Lemmon Center. My work with Telamon allowed me to deliver early-intervention services to mothers during and after pregnancy, as well as to children ages birth to three.
My dedication to this work is deeply personal. I provided early-intervention support for my daughter, who was born with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and later applied my skills to support my autistic grandson under the care of Duke University’s Special Infant Care Center. He is now a proud 5th-grade honor-roll student—a testament to the power of early support and unwavering advocacy.
I believe my purpose is to provide a meaningful blend of individual and group interventions for both parents and children. I am passionate about early intervention and strongly believe that social-care involvement is one of the most essential elements in improving outcomes for families and young children.
