Hello, I'm Emily
Bachelor's in Special Education
I am compassionate, experienced and grounded
I have worked professionally for people with disabilities for over 15 years; teaching (both in-schools and in homes), providing respite care, parent coaching, IEP advocacy, and other in-home supports. I have a combined B.S./M.Ed in special education from the University of Maryland. I have been trained in CMT, CPR, First Aid, de escalation, and behavior management. I currently work full time as an IEP chair at a special school in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS).
In my free time I enjoy hiking in National Parks (Shenandoah is my favorite, a close second to Acadia!) and relaxing outside at wineries or breweries with my husband and closest friends. When we're not able to get out on the trails, we foster dogs in our home from the rural south through a local rescue. Over time, we have saved 15 homeless dogs and found them loving homes in the DMV area.
