Hello, I'm Jade

Special Education Teacher

I am dedicated, compassionate and experienced

My background in education has really shaped how I see the world — I believe children learn best when they feel understood, supported, and emotionally safe. I care deeply about mental health advocacy and making conversations about wellness feel approachable, honest, and stigma-free.

My experience in education began during and right after high school, working in preschools, daycares, and after-school programs, where I discovered a passion for supporting students at every stage of development. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, along with an Autism Specialist certification and Orton-Gillingham training, and developed a strong focus on literacy across K–12. While I currently teach high school as an Exceptional Children’s teacher, I also serve as a YMCA reading interventionist working with 3rd and 4th graders. Across all settings, I’ve built experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, using structured strategies alongside a strong emphasis on emotional regulation and overall wellness. I’m deeply committed to helping students feel confident, understood, and supported—not just academically, but as whole individuals.

Outside of work, I’m big on balance. I love weightlifting — it’s one of my favorite ways to clear my mind and build confidence. I also enjoy hiking, being outside, and getting lost in a good book! I just moved to the area from Wisconsin in July and I'm really enjoying getting to know the area!
